Empowering Women Through Life Skills:
SISU Partners with the Salvation Army
At SISU Empowering Others, we believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to thrive, especially those facing difficult circumstances. That’s why we’ve partnered with the Salvation Army to provide life skills classes to women in their shelter, helping them build the tools needed for a brighter future.
So far, we've conducted two successful sessions on August 5th and September 23rd, with a focus on mentorship, job connections, and advocacy. These classes are designed to equip women with essential life skills, from resume building and job search techniques to interview preparation and goal setting. Our mentorship program offers one-on-one guidance, helping participants navigate personal and professional challenges with confidence.
But we don’t stop there. SISU aims to go beyond teaching skills – we’re committed to advocacy. Our team works tirelessly to connect these women with services that address their unique needs, whether that’s securing employment, housing, or other essential resources. Each session is a step towards empowerment, and our goal is to continue these classes at least once a month, fostering long-term support and sustainable change.
Through this partnership with the Salvation Army, we are not just teaching skills; we are building a community of support. Together, we’re helping women gain independence, build confidence, and move towards a more stable future. If you’re interested in learning more about our life skills classes or how you can get involved, please reach out to us at SISU Empowering Others.
Let’s continue to empower, uplift, and advocate for those who need it most.
